
Biography
Dr. Beuttell grew up in New York State. He and his family lived in Lugano, Switzerland from 1956-1961. Dr. Beuttell has been married for 33 years to Lynn, who has taught at Lake Forest Country Day School for 22 years. They have a son, Kevin, and a daughter, Patricia.
Dr. Beuttell believes continuing education is a critical part of providing care for his patients. He spends many hours every year taking classes to learn more about the latest techniques and materials and equipment available. His educational mentors have been Drs. Stuart, Peter K. Thomas, Niles Guichet and Peter Dawson. With his expertise in prosthetics, which demands knowledge in occlusion, cosmetics, implants, TMJ disorders and the interrelationship of all of the components of the masticatory system, Dr. Beuttell is well-qualified to take care of your dental needs, no matter how simple or complex.
Dr. Beuttell has practiced general dentistry in Northfield, Ill., since 1971.
Education
Dr. Beuttell received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1967 and his D.D.S. degree, with honors, from Northwestern University Dental School in 1971. Dr. Beuttell devotes a significant portion of his time to, and believes strongly in, continuing education.
Academic Efforts
Dr. Beuttell graduated in the Top 10 of his class at Northwestern University Dental School. While he was an undergraduate student, he ran a weekly clinic to provide free care to indigent children. Dr. Beuttell was presented with an award from the American Academy of Pedodontics for his care of children.
He taught from 1971-1973 at the Northwestern University Dental School and then at The Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Hospital Residency Program from 1973-1979 and again from 1981-1983.
Dr. Beuttell began using the Cerec™ System in January 1990. He taught doctors how to use the Cerec™ System since 1997 and is a certified ISCD Master Trainer. He has completed over 4,500 Cerec™ restorations and has used the System since 1990. Dr. Beuttell is a member of The Academy of Computerized Dentistry.
Dr. Beuttell has lectured internationally in Moscow, Russia and at the First International Symposium on Computer Restorations in Zurich, Switzerland. He has also lectured extensively throughout the United States. Dr. Beuttell authored The Cerec 3 Training Manual.
